Don Duck, Geese God, and The New Female Powerhouse of Blaavand

Today, the weather was cloudy and rainy with eastern winds of up to 6 m/s. The mist nets were open, and, of course, we also did our daily morning observation. Henrik B., Louis (aka Geese God), and I (aka Don Duck) were observing, while Anton, Antonia, Frida, Felix, Anne, and Leona were ringing.

The migration was rather slow today, but we saw a couple of White-fronted Geese (Blisgas), Barnacle Geese (Bramgas), Brant Geese (Knortegas), Pink-footed Geese (Kortnaebbet Gas), Greylag Geese (Gragas), Lapwings (Vibe), and Eider Ducks (Ederfugl). Additionally, we spotted a Hen Harrier (Bla Kaerhög), three White-tailed Eagles (Havörn), two Merlins (Dvaergfalk), and a Common Buzzard (Musvage). Anton promoted Antonia today because of her precise and successful work, appointing her as the new ringing CEO. Consequently, she hired Anne, Frida, Leona, and Feli as her assistants. Henceforth, ringing will be managed by the Female Powerhouse of Blaavand under Anton's supervision. The first day under these new circumstances turned out to be great, with 80 birds in the nets, including one Firecrest (Rödtoppet Fuglekonge), one Bullfinch ssp. Pyrrhula (Stor Dompap), and ten Long-tailed Tits (Halemejse).

In the afternoon, the Geese God and I baked garlic bread, following the ancient and secret recipe from Bornholm.

For dinner, Anton decided to have a BBQ, which all of us enjoyed to the fullest. We savored the food, had some cold beers, hearty laughs, and also celebrated David's return. It is safe to say: Det var en virkelig smuk dag! (It was truly a beautiful day!)
